On the final day of this test session at Jerez, on Feb 13 Ferrari had racked up over 700km in testing, and overall had put the car through a rigorous program which the car has thus far done flawlessly and without any reliability problems. During the 3 day test in Jerez Spain, Ferrari besides evaluating upcoming F1 talent, managed to also gather new data that will be used in the development of the 2010 Ferrari F1 car. Ferrari focusing on next year’s “no refueling” rule, ran the F60 full of fuel along with an array of sensors in order to further understand the car’s performance. “We had lots of fuel today, looking towards next year, so we were not fast. But it was my job to do that because the team wanted to do it. We did a good job I think, because we did a lot of laps without any mistakes or problems. So we finished the day with 113 laps.

Jules Bianchi says it is ‘amazing’ talking about his chance to make a Formula 1 test debut with Ferrari. We reported earlier, that the Frenchman was a likely test candidate with Ferrari during the Jerez young driver testing days with his manager Nicolas Todt having had talks with Ferrari on the idea. The Frenchman who is just 20 years old and having won this year’s Formula 3 Euro Series title, has been added onto the Ferrari young driver testing schedule in Jerez Spain. Ferrari will be testing 3 other drivers along with the F3 Euro winner. With F3s top finishers, Italians Daniel Zampieri, Marco Zipoli and a Mexican teenager Pablo Sanchez Lopez also having a go in the F60.

Formal testing is banned until February, but the current 2009 FIA sporting regulations allow for a series of exceptions one of which is a test for the purpose of “young driver training”. Ferrari along with the other Formula 1 teams are set to conduct just such a test at the upcoming event at Jerez Spain, between the 1st and 3rd of December. Ferrari is choosing to allocate it’s available testing days to the top three finishers of the Italian F3 championship. Drivers, Daniel Zampieri, Marco Zipoli, and a young Mexican driver wo is still in his teens, Pablo Sanchez Lopez will be at the wheel of an F60. The other F1 competitors will not be sitting on the sidelines either.
