Here is a quick look at Scuderia Ferrari’s drivers that will be contesting for the championships in the upcoming 2010 Formula One season. Let’s start with Felipe Massa returning for another season with Ferrari and also returning from a serious accident last season.

On the final day of this test session at Jerez, on Feb 13 Ferrari had racked up over 700km in testing, and overall had put the car through a rigorous program which the car has thus far done flawlessly and without any reliability problems. However, the same question still remains. Is the new Ferrari F10 single-seater faster than the rest?

Fernando Alonso will drive the Ferrari F10 on the first two days of the four day session, before handing over the reins to Felipe Massa. Weather however may not be favorable.

For all intents and purposes, the top of the time sheets in each of the sessions was clearly dominated by Ferrari.

Day two of testing in Cheste, Spain sees Ferrari and Felipe leading the way again after day 2. After a series of long runs and short stints with both heavy and lighter fuel loads and scrubbed tires, the Brazilian set the fastest time of the day during the morning session with a time of 1m11.722s.

Ferrari’s confidence in the F10 grows after Felipe Massa ends day 1 of pre-season testing in P1 Valencia topping the time sheets. After the morning session, Felipe Massa set the benchmark time to beat with a time of 1:13.088s just before lunch completing a total of 32 laps. As the test went on into the afternoon, times subsequently began to drop.

As the teams break for lunch from the first F1 tests of the 2010 season at Cheste, near Valencia, Ferrari’s Felipe Massa finds himself at the top of the time sheets.

Felipe Massa will not be able to take part in the traditional shakedown of Ferrari’s newest single-seater the F10 at the team’s private Fiorano test track. Very unfavorable weather conditions including ice on the track have again prevented the team from conducting what Ferrari are calling a “promotional” video event. Ferrari had planned to shoot a promotional video of the car on track at Fiorano yesterday after the launch, but weather conditions with snow and ice then, as they have today prevented the team from running the planned program.

Scuderia Ferrari has officially launched the F10, the car with which it plans to enter and contest the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship. After several weeks earlier announcing that the new car’s launch would be streamed online via Ferrari’s official website the new single-seater was officially unveiled in Maranello at the GT Assembly Line Pavilion around 10.30am today.
